• Naturaliste Charters Marine Intern Program - Return Intern Expression of Interest

  • Hello Again!

If you have previously completed a Marine Biology Internship with Naturaliste Charters during the Bremer Canyon Orca season, we would love to hear from you about your interest in returning.

If you are selected as a returning intern, we want your next experience in Bremer to build on the skills and knowledge you developed during your previous internship.

This form is an opportunity to reflect on your previous experience, tell us how you have used what you learnt since leaving Bremer, and identify the areas you would like to explore or develop further.

Your responses will help us understand how we can tailor your next internship experience and, where possible, provide opportunities for greater independence, responsibility and involvement in our marine science work.

As the internship receives a high number of applications each year and places are limited, we also aim to provide opportunities for students and graduates who have not yet had the chance to experience the program. For this reason, returning intern positions are limited and offered to applicants who demonstrate continued growth, a strong commitment to the program and how they hope to build on their previous internship experience.

Please note that submitting this Expression of Interest does not guarantee a returning internship position. All applications will be reviewed through a selection process, with successful applicants chosen based on their previous internship experience, suitability, availability and the overall composition of the intern cohort.

Applications for the upcoming season close on October 1st. Those submitted after this date may not be reviewed.

  • Research and project opportunities

  • Over the years, our dedicated interns have helped collect a huge amount of real-world data from the Bremer Canyon. There is plenty we would love to explore further but we simply don't have the time to dive into it ourselves!

Where suitable, returning interns may have opportunities to become more involved in exploring this data or completing a small marine science research project using data collected through Naturaliste Charters.

  • Would you be interested in working on a small research or data project using data collected in the Bremer Canyon?*

  • Are there any particular research or analytical skills you would like to gain experience in?*
  • Would you be interested in continuing to work on a project outside of your time in Bremer?*

  • Accomodation arrangements have changed this year and we may not have the space to accomodate interns with their own bedroom.

  • How did we do?

  • We are always looking to improve the internship program and while we were once interns ourselves, we thought who better to ask than you!

Your honest feedback is greatly appreciated and will help us continue to develop the program for future interns.
