  • 2026 Homecoming Parade

  • PARADE GUIDELINES

    • Parade entries should show SHSU spirit, SHSU theme, and display a very collegiate and university oriented appearance.
    • Parade line-up will begin at 3:45 PM on 19th Street, on Thursday, September 17th. Please enter at the corner of 19th Street and Avenue O in order to receive your official parade order number. Only parade entries will be let into the line-up area of 19th Street. All entries must be decorated and in place by 5:30 p.m. Please do not decorate entries in the parking lot.
    • The Parade will start promptly at 6:15 PM
    • For safety, a distance of 15 feet should be maintained between each entry. Please do not stop for photographs during the Parade.
    • Parade Marshals, Huntsville Police Officers, and University Police Officers will be present to assist with traffic flow. For your safety and for the safety of others, please comply with their instructions at all times.
    • We encourage you to throw candy and prizes. However, please throw them carefully out into the crowd and out of the traffic flow!
    • All parade participants must have 2 people walking on each side of the floats to ensure the safety of the parade attendees.
    • NO ALCOHOL WILL BE TOLERATED.

  • Motorized Float – A trailer that is decorated to the degree to which you can only see the hitch and tires. The trailer must be completely decorated. Three-dimensional designs are encouraged. A parade marshal will classify questionable entries the day of the event.

    Motorized Non-Float – Any vehicle or decorated trailer that does not meet the motorized float requirements.
