4. Acoustic Guitar Lessons & Theology of Worship
Leader: Rob Frazier
Length: 14 weeks (two 7-week modules)
Audience: CO-ED
Description: Rob Frazier, our Worship Pastor at Pleasant View First Baptist Church, brings a rare combination of musical experience, pastoral training, and a deep commitment to congregational worship. Before becoming a pastor, he spent 25 years in Christian music as an artist, songwriter, and producer. He briefly recorded and toured with Petra, released seven solo albums, and contributed to more than 200 recorded songs—including gold, platinum, and multi-platinum projects and multiple Grammy and Dove Award nominations. He later earned an MA in Practical Theology from Regent University School of Divinity and has served in pastoral ministry since 2000.
This co-ed course consists of two seven-week modules. The first will offer practical acoustic-guitar instruction, drawing upon Rob’s extensive experience as a professional musician. The second will explore the theology of worship—why God’s people worship, how congregational singing forms us as God’s gathered family, and how we can offer praise with greater biblical understanding and intentionality.
Rob considers leading God’s people in worship a sacred privilege. His desire is to help participants grow both in practical skill and in their understanding of worship as our faithful response to who God is and what God has done.
Those who register will receive additional information about any instruments, books, or materials needed.
