South Maitland Football Club is inviting Expressions of Interest from players wishing to be considered for our 2027 JDL and PYL boys’ and girls’ programs.

Our objective is to:

Develop technically confident players who can solve problems with and without the ball.

We are looking for players who are willing to learn, work hard, grow in confidence and contribute positively to their team. Selection will consider more than current ability, with attitude, coachability, commitment and development potential all playing an important role.

JDL
The JDL program will focus on:

Building strong technical foundations

Developing confidence and enjoyment

Improving game understanding and decision-making

Encouraging players to express themselves

Creating positive habits on and off the field

PYL
The PYL program will provide a more advanced development environment focused on:

Technical and tactical development

Higher standards of preparation and commitment

Individual growth within a team environment

Resilience, discipline and responsibility

Preparing players for future football opportunities

Player Expectations
Selected players will be expected to:

Attend training, matches and team activities consistently

Arrive on time and prepared

Respond positively to coaching and feedback

Show respect to teammates, coaches, officials and opponents

Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Represent South Maitland FC with pride

Attendance and commitment will be monitored throughout the season. Regular unexplained absences or ongoing lateness may affect match-day opportunities and continued involvement in the program.

Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee selection. Players will be eligible to attend trials or identification sessions, with final selections based on ability, attitude, potential, commitment and team requirements. Trials will include internal and independent selectors.
