About the Workshop
What hidden stories are waiting inside the pages of speculative fiction?
Take a page from speculative literature and discover how much you can create from what is already there.
You’ll explore blackout poetry - selecting, obscuring and rearranging words from an existing text to reveal new meanings and create your own original poem. You can also experiment with found poetry and visual collage techniques, cutting, rearranging and layering words to uncover unexpected meanings and build new worlds from the fragments you find.
Inspired by the worlds of speculative writers, you’ll become a creator yourself - transforming existing words into something entirely new.
No previous writing or art experience is needed - everyone is welcome! You’ll leave with your own original speculative poetry artwork.
