• "Dial M for Murder" Audition Sign-up

  • Please use this form to show your interest in auditioning for one of the available roles for "Dial M for Murder" Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the original by Frederick Knott, and directed by Nancy (Nina) Wright.  Auditions will be held at The Toledo Repertoire Theatre, 16  10th Street, Toledo.  Auditioners should enter the parking lot Stage Door to check in.  Casting requirements are 2 women, 2 men, one role could be cast as either male or female.  All characters must be close in age except INSPECTOR HUBBARD, who can be older. English accents are required for all characters except MAXINE.

    Audition dates are Sept. 2-3, 2026 (Wednesday/Thursday). Callbacks will be arranged only if necessary. No memorized monologues are needed. Auditioners will be asked to read from sides provided.  Please expect that your presence may be required for most or all of the evening you select.

    Rehearsal requirements: generally 4 weeknight rehearsals 6:30-9:00 PM. Rehearsals will begin with a read-thru on or about Sept. 10 (exact date TBA).  The play runs: November 6-15, 2026.

    Dial M for Murder

    A thriller for the stage set in 1952, this is an updated version of the script that inspired Hitchcock’s film masterpiece. Tony Wendice, a former playboy now married to an heiress, suspects that his wife is cheating on him. His mounting jealousy leads to deception, recrimination, and murder.
