What is it?
Ditch your smart phone for a dumb phone and join a cohort of neighbors for weekly meetups, creative challenges, and mutual encouragement. As a group, we'll explore our current relationship with technology and what we could do to make it better.
It's part happy hour, part support group, part classroom.
Where/When:
We'll meet at Recycled Propaganda (1114 South Main Street, Suite #120) every Wednesday at 7pm - 9pm for six weeks, from October 7 to November 11.
This is the first Month Offline cohort in Las Vegas, and is facilitated by two local volunteers!
More details to follow, including the secret password to get into the first meeting, but the overall format will be:

How much does it cost?
In order to participate in Month Offline, please bring $5 cash to our initial meet up. This participation fee will go towards food/drinks and materials, and also helps hold everyone in the cohort accountable of their digital habits!
What is a dumb phone?
Think opposite of a smart phone! Any phone (usually a flip phone) that has only the basics, and won't allow you to download multiple apps or doomscroll even more hours of your life away.
We (B + M) will be using the dumbphone 2 by dumb.co, but you do not need to purchase this specific phone in order to participate! But, if you would like to order the dumbphone 2, we have a discount code for you!

What is the dumbphone 2?
It's a flip phone that works with iMessage, Signal, WhatsApp, Google Messages, SMS, Uber, Spotify, and Apple Music, and has maps and 2FA! You can find more info by clicking here!
We recommend ordering the dumbphone 2 as soon as possible, and at the latest, 10 days before the meet up!
They are shipped through USPS, which can be a little slow and takes about that long to reach Nevada from D.C.. We want everyone who is using a dumbphone 2 to have it set up and be familiar with them prior to our initial meet up.
Don't want to go the dumbphone 2 route?
That's totally okay, any and all ways to go without your smartphone are an option!

What will the meetups be like?
It'll be a group discussion centered around exploring life outside of screens, tapping into our creativity, and finding more joy and presence in our lives. There will be snacks!
We were also thinking that after meetings, we could grab drinks or dessert together! This would not be mandatory, and would serve as an option to continue community building outside the weekly meetings. Let us know if something like interests you!
