Ownership Declaration Form

To be completed for every dog, be it to; transfer ownership, retain ownership, or appoint a keeper.
Notes:

The breeder or principal owner of any dog is constitutionally required to declare the change of ownership immediately upon handover of the dog. Various options are available, namely:

Transfer of Ownership
- Transfer all rights to the dog to a new principal owner.
- Co-owners may be appointed if needed.
1. In the case of puppies, this document serves as proof of ownership until such time that a breeder forwards the signed pedigree.
2. Transfer of ownership must be completed and signed by the breeder or Current Owner upon handover of the dog.

Keeper Appointment
- Principal owner retains ownership of the dog but appoints a keeper with whom the dog will reside.
- Principal owner may nominate which rights the keeper will have with regard to the dog.
1. In order to enter GSDF events, train at a GSDF club, perform prescribed tests (e.g. HD, DNA), issue a mating certificate or register a litter with or for a dog, the keeper must be a GSDF member in their own right.
2. The finer details of a keeper agreement are the responsibility of the principal owner and are not governed by the GSD Federation of SA

Carer Declaration
1. Breeders retaining ownership of dogs they have bred and which they are caring for on their premises are expected to notify the Federation of this intention by declaring themselves as the carer.
