Liability Waiver, Assumption of Risk, and Media Release
By submitting this entry and participating in the 2026 American Schutzhund National Championship, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
I understand that participation in Schutzhund training and trials involves inherent risks to myself, my dog(s), spectators, guests, volunteers, and others. These risks include, but are not limited to, serious personal injury, illness, permanent disability, death, damage to or loss of property, and injury to or death of my dog(s).
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in this event and accept full responsibility for any injury, loss, damage, expense, or liability that I, my dog(s), my family members, or my guests may sustain while attending or participating in this event.
In consideration of being permitted to participate, I release, waive, discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify American Schutzhund, Palmetto Working Dog Club, Lawshe Plantation, the property owners, judges, trial officials, helpers, volunteers, event staff, sponsors, vendors, directors, employees, and affiliates (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to my participation in this event, including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
I certify that my dog is in good health, is current on all vaccinations or vaccinations required by applicable law, and is physically fit to participate. I accept full responsibility for all veterinary care and expenses incurred by my dog before, during, or after the event.
I agree to maintain control of my dog at all times and accept full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by my dog to any person, animal, or property. I further accept responsibility for the conduct of any family members, assistants, or guests accompanying me to the event.
I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to comply with all current American Schutzhund rules, regulations, policies, trial procedures, and event requirements. I understand that failure to comply may result in dismissal from the event without refund.
I grant American Schutzhund and its designees the unrestricted right to photograph, video record, livestream, and otherwise capture my image, likeness, name, and my dog’s image and likeness during the event. I authorize the use, publication, reproduction, distribution, and display of such media in any format or medium, now known or later developed, for educational, promotional, historical, editorial, or commercial purposes without compensation or further approval.
If any provision of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
By signing below, I certify that I have carefully read this Agreement, fully understand its contents, understand that I am giving up certain legal rights, and voluntarily agree to be legally bound by its terms.
