    AMPED Independent Study is a course built to support Teens create powerful projects via the support of Hyde Park Art Center Teen Programs. This program is for driven young artists who are seeking to boost their art making skills, persue a project/idea, or someone needs support seeing their vision come to light!

  • Attendance is exrememly important to your success in Independent Study. Independent study meets every Monday from 4:30 - 6:30, and your additional course will also be meeting weekly. If for whatever reason you cannot make a meeting, you must reach out to Harley Reid and notify her of your absence. Even with excused absences, if they add up to 3 or more during a term (ten weeks), then you may be subject to a conversation or not be able to participate in the program. 

     

    AMPED IS A YEAR LONG COMMITMENT!

  • Each participant receives up to $300 for supplies to use on a project (or series of projects) to be completed during the term year. This budget can be used on art supplies and small tech accessories. The following items are not allowed to be purchased with supplies:

    • Computers/tablets
    • Digital Cameras/Camcorders
    • Gift cards
    • Subscriptions
    • Anything not related to art making or the project you are creating.
  • Program Requirments

    1. Enrollment in one additional teen programs course. 

    2. Be self driven to commit to the requirements/agreements.

    3. Must be able to attend ALL sessions of the 2026-2027 term year. This includes Fall term (September 28th - December 4th), Winter term (January 11 - March 19), and Spring Term (July 6 - July 23rd).

    4. Use of Art supplies: the Art Center will provide each teen a budget for supplies. Supplies MUST be used for a project, and/or a piece that will be presented during Hyde Park Art Center's Summer Teen Programs Exhibition.

    5. All participants must have at least one work submitted to the annual Teen Programs Exhibition.
