    Therapy can be an essential part of any person’s healing journey. In the process, as therapists, wetake on much of the client’s pain and struggles, often impacting our bodies. The Alexander Technique offers a gentle, effective method to restore natural movement, enhancingmobility, performance, and alertness while reducing stiffness, tension, and pain.In this 2-hour workshop, we will explore how your natural integration can support you to be the mosteffective therapist to support your clients while feeling light and poised. This workshop is for any therapist who notices physical pain or discomfort at the end of a day or week of work; wants to learn more about physical/mental health in a Cognitive Embodiment modality; wants to learn how to do less and be a better listener, communicator, and therapist; has an interest in cognitive embodiment/psychosomatic connection; or wants to improve poise, vitality, and stamina for sitting for long hours This will be live and interactive via discussion and intsructor-led activities on zoom but there is an option to register to receive a private link to a recording.

    Identify and participate in 2 “Non-Doing” activities to support doing less and promotingregulation and overall health |Identify 2-3 habitual patterns they have become aware of in the workshop, that maycontribute to compression and shortening the system |Identify 3 ideas of using intentional thinking in their practice to change habits
  • Trainer Information

    Tommy Swanson M.AmSAT, LPMT, MT-BC, has been recognized in numerous state competitions, as well as many international festivals for music. Tommy has the privilege of traveling across the United States, and to countries like Canada, Guatemala, Peru, Spain, France, and Ireland to teach and perform.Tommy completed his Alexander Technique training at Alexander Technique Training inChicago (ATTiC) which is a 3-year 1600-hr training. Tommy has had the privilege of teaching aworkshop for musicians in Lima and Cusco, Peru, for musicians at Arizona State University, the Chicago Flute Club, Niles Township District for Special Education, and National Louis University. Tommy is also a Board-Certified and Licensed Professional Music Therapist in Illinois.Tommy specializes in working with children and adults with special needs, and works at Niles Township District for Special Education.

Registrants are eligible for refunds by request prior to the training session. To participate in the live training, you will need access to a zoom application. To complete the recorded training, you will need an updated browser that can access Google Drive files. Attendees who engage in this training will receive an evaluation, which will generate their CE certificate. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting, provider number 2389, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 8/15/26-8/15/29. Social workers completing this course receive 2 general continuing education credits. Course material is at a beginner for social workers. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7833. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting is solely responsible for allaspects of the programs.
