• Youth Board of Artists (YBA) Fall 2026

  • Youth Board of Artists was not only the first Teen Programs program, but is also the heart of Teen Programs at Hyde Park Art Center. While applying, keep in mind the core values of YBA:

    • Community engagement

    • Sharing YOUR voice
    • Advocating for others 
    • Leaving the Art Center a better place than you left it!
  • Eligibility

    + Must currently be in high school. + Must have a passion for engaging in the arts and meeting new people. + Must be able to attend meetings according to the attendance policy (listed below).
  • Attendance Policy

    • Attendance is crucial for participation, therefore YBA members are required to attend all sessions possible.
    • Two unexcused absences will be accepted, with any further absences whether excused or unexcused resulting in a potential to loose your spot for this term or future terms (2026-27).
    • After one unexcused absence, you will recieve a warning. On the second unexcused absence, you will be dropped from YBA.
    • An excused absence is a communicated absence due to important school/work conflict, family emergency, sickness/health, or personal emergency.
    • An unexcused absence is an absence that is not communicated, or does not qualify for an excused absence (hanging out with friends, a party or event, homework, etc.)
    • You must communicate an absence at least 24 hours in advance, whether or not you will believe it qualifies as an excused absence, we understand that every situation can be different.
    • YBA will meet on the following Thursdays:
      • Thursday, October 1st
      • Thursday, October 8th
      • Thursday, October 15th
      • Thursday, October 22nd
      • Thursday, October 29th
      • Thursday, November 5th
      • Thursday, November 12th
      • Thursday, November 19th
      • Thursday, December 3rd

Applications are selected, and acceptance is not first come first serve like to other other programs.
