    Please share your general availability and reflect on the level of commitment you can realistically maintain. Our work ranges from scheduled activities (events, mutual aid, meetings) to more time-sensitive or on-call support (such as rapid response or hotline). We encourage you to be honest about your capacity. Consistent involvement, at any level, helps us stay coordinated and effective.

    Programs are organized by level of commitment from high (consistent or on-call involvement) to low (flexible or event-based).

    We encourage you to select areas that align with your capacity.

    Some programs require additional training or vetting before participation.*

    High Commitment (Core Roles – Consistency Required)

    • Rapid Response
      • Respond to time-sensitive situations in the community and support impacted families.
      • Time: On-call + availability for urgent response
    • Community Hotline
      • Support communication and coordination when community members report activity, need assistance, or resource coordination
      • Time: Weekly shifts (2–3 times per week preferred)
    • Know Your Rights (KYR) & Legal Observer
      • Support community education and documentation efforts.
      • Time: Training required + ongoing participation
    • Fundraising
      • Support coordinating and organizing fundraising efforts with busniesses, organizations, via social media, etc... for community outreach supplies, aid to affected community members.

    Moderate Commitment (Active Participation)

    • Policy & Coalitions
      • Work with community groups and elected officials to support long-term policy change and partnerships.
      • Time: ~2–6 hours/week (meetings, coordination)
    • Ideas on Tap (Events & Political Education)
      • Help organize and support community discussions and educational events.
      • Time: Event-based + planning involvement
    • Social Media Support / Flyers (awareness)
      • Support with creating flyers for events (KYR, direct actions, resources, tx...), creating social media content (posts/videos, etc...) 
      • Time: Event based + breaking news capacity


    Lower Commitment (Flexible - Occasionally)

    • Whistle Kits
      • Assemble and distribute safety materials in the community.
      • Time: Occasional/event-based
    • Direct Actions
      • Support protests, demonstrations, and public actions.
      • Time: As actions arise (often evenings/weekends)

    *Some programs especially Rapid Response, Hotline, and KYR/Legal Observer require additional vetting, training, and consistent availability before participation.

    Some roles may require training or onboarding before getting started.We provide the necessary guidance and support, and we ask that volunteers commit to completing any required trainings for the roles they select.Our work relies on trust, consistency, and coordination, so we prioritize volunteers who are willing to follow through on their commitments.
