Join The House of (DE-FI)ance: A Fashion & Design Co-working Experience for this two-session Crash Course, September 10 & 15 from 6:00–7:30 PM, led by Chloe Brzozowski, Stitcher & Art Educator.
You'll strengthen your sewing skills while creating a wearable cape inspired by the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
This class is designed for those with basic sewing experience, including self-taught sewists. Participants should already be comfortable operating a sewing machine.
Build your skills, create your cape, and step into the story.
Workshop Details
Cost: $75 (includes both workshop sessions)
What's Included:
- Two 90-minute hands-on workshops
- Instruction from an experienced sewist and educator
- Guidance from start to finish as you complete your project
Required Supplies:
Fabric (Pre-washed before class)
Long/full cape: 4–7 yards
Short cape: 2–3 yards
Recommended Fabric Types
- Woven cotton
- Polyester
- Velvet
- Brocade
- Other woven fabrics
- Choose lightweight fabrics for a flowing cape or heavier fabrics for a more structured look.
Optional Supplies
- Buttons or clasps for closure (a variety of buttons will also be available during class)
- Sewing Machines
***A limited number of sewing machines are available. Participants are encouraged to bring their own machine if possible. If you need to borrow a machine, please indicate that during registration. Sewing machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis.***
