Hi, I’m Shelby Justice, tattoo artist and co-owner of American Gypsy Tattoo in Jonestown, TX, with 6 years of experience behind the needle.

My specialties are fine line, micro realism, sacred geometry and black & grey. I’m also actively expanding into hyper color realism, so if you’ve got a color piece in mind, I’d love to take it on.

Pricing 

Not sure which pricing applies to you? Small, single-session pieces are priced by the square inch below. Larger custom work needing more than 2 hours or multiple sessions falls under the Half Day or Full Day rates.

For tattoos that can be completed in a single session, pricing is by the square inch:

• $125 minimum for the first square inch

• $25 for each additional square inch (full shading/high detail)

• $20 for each additional square inch (simple line work)

 

For larger custom pieces requiring multiple sessions, pricing becomes hourly at $200/hour, plus a design fee of $100–$200 depending on size (may run higher for larger or more complex pieces). The design fee is charged at each session for the specific piece being tattooed that day, and drops off once all designs for the project have been completed — after that, it’s hourly only.

Half Day Rate – $800

For clients wanting more than 2 hours of work. Covers a 4-hour appointment: 3 hours of tattooing plus 1 hour for design, setup, and breakdown. Additional sessions are billed at $200/hour. Deposit is $200, which carries through to your final appointment and is subtracted from that session’s price. 

Full Day Rate – $1,400

Includes up to 5 hours of actual needle time over an 8-hour day (accounting for breaks, setup, stencil prep, and breakdown). Covers design time leading up to your session, full setup/breakdown, and your first session toward completing the piece. Deposit is $200, subtracted from your final payment. If the tattoo isn’t finished in the first session, additional time is billed at $200/hour for the second session.

Deposits & Design Fees — What to Know

📌 Deposits are $80 for anything under $300 and for larger projects the deposit is $200 and goes toward your final session’s cost — not an extra charge.

📌 Design fees ($100–$200) apply only to custom multi-session pieces, and are charged at each session for the specific design being tattooed that day. Once all designs in your project have been tattooed, the design fee goes away — you’re just paying hourly from that point forward. 

📌 Deposits and design fees are non-negotiable and secure your appointment time.

📌 Cancellations & Rescheduling: We require 48 hours’ notice for any changes. Deposits are transferable to a new appointment date up until the 48-hour window — after that, the deposit is forfeited.
