The adoption contract that forms part of our terms and conditions

'PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING.ADOPTION CONTRACTADOPTION FEE NON REFUNDABLEADOPTION FEE OF R750.00 PAYABLE WHICH IS FOR STERILIZATION, 1ST VACCINATION, DEWORMER AND MICRO CHIPYou have decided to adopt this animal and after careful consideration we may find you to be a responsible and caring owner. Many of the animals in our care have come here due to the negligence of their past owners and we trust that you will take this responsibility of owning and caring for an animal very seriously.Please read through the contract below and understand the seriousness of it.I hereby confirm and promise:I am over the age of 18 (eighteen).If for whatever reason I am unable to take care of this animal I undertake to return it to Edenvale FeralsI understand that it may take some time for this new animal to adjust to a new home and I undertake to be patient and give it a fair and reasonable chance.I understand that that adoption fee has been raised.I as well hereby agree to adopt the above named animal who, on the date of adoption appears to be free from any communicable diseases and is in apparent good health, spayed/neutered (pending age of animal), vaccinated, de-wormed & micro-chipped but due to an unknown history may have genetic or hereditary defects which are as yet not apparent. Edenvale ferals cannot accept responsibility for any veterinary claims whatsoever after the signing of this contract between the two parties concerned.If the animal is too young to be sterilized when I adopt it, I promise to have this done this done as soon as possible. Edenvale Ferals undertakes to keep in touch with you as to when the sterilization will be due.I promise to feed and house this animal in accordance with animal welfare standards.I promise I will never put this animal on a running chain nor in a cage and I understand that if this animal is found to be chained or caged it will be removed from my custody immediately.I promise that i will not place the adopted animal in contact with another animal of the same species or any other animal that i am insure of without proper introductions to prevent any form fighting.I am able to pay for the veterinary care for this animal and any major surgery unless it is an emergency is to be discussed with Edenvale Ferals animals before such surgery is undertaken.I promise to keep the animal in good health and will keep vaccinations up to date.I promise not to allow my animal to roam about in the streets.(Without looking out for it as we understand cats do roam)I permit a representative of Edenvale Ferals to visit my property to do a follow up visit and inspection of the property and animals condition.If this animal is found to be in any way neglected, in danger or at risk I hereby confirm that the Edenvale Ferals animals officer may repossess the animal.I promise that the animal will not be used as a training cat or showcat on any commercial or industrial premises. This animal is adopted to be kept as a house pet.I promise to keep Edenvale Ferals animals informed of any change of address or contact details.Irrespective of any other provision contained herein, I accept and agree that Ferals has incurred much expense and expended much effort in rescuing the animal and other animals and retains a vested interest in the animal. As such, if for any reason whatsoever I can no longer maintain or keep the animal per this agreement or otherwise , and if I fail to return the animal to Edenvale Ferals upon latter’s demand, then I shall be liable for an agreed penalty amount equivalent to the adoption fee.Adoption fees are non-refundable.
