Religious Education & Sacramental Prep Registration 2026-27

The Catholic Community of South Baltimore offers a strong religious education program and is here to support parents, the primary instructors in our Catholic faith. We encourage you to take part in family catechesis and to work with our
religious education program staff to develop a rich spiritual life in your homes.

This form is to register your child for Religious Education sessions at CCSB, and/or to register them for Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation/Communion or Confirmation. If your child is currently enrolled at a Catholic school, and therefore only needs Sacramental Prep at CCSB, this is still the correct form to complete.

Second Graders:

In order to receive First Communion and First Reconciliation in the second grade (or later!), a child needs to be enrolled in Religion Education for one full year prior to the celebration of the sacrament.

For instance, the child must have:

completed first grade religious education classes at CCSB or at a Catholic school
AND be entering second grade this fall
AND enroll for Religious Education at CCSB or be in a Catholic school this fall

... in order to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation & First Communion this coming year.

Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Graders:

In order to receive Confirmation in the fourth grade (or later!), a child needs to be enrolled in Religion Education for one full year prior to the celebration of the sacrament.

For instance, this year, the child must have:

completed third, fourth, or fifth grade religious education classes at CCSB or at a Catholic school
AND be entering fourth, fifth, or sixth grade this fall
AND enroll for Religious Education at CCSB or be in a Catholic school this fall (fourth or fifth graders) or join the Middle School Youth Group at CCSB (sixth graders)

... in order to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation this coming year. If you have a question about your child's eligibility to participate in the program of formation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, please email Fr. Kevin Ewing at kevin.ewing@archbalt.org.

On that page, please select the configuration for your family's participation in Religious Ed classes and/or Sacramental Prep (First Communion/Reconciliation or Confirmation).

For example, a family with 2 children participating in Religious Ed classes would select "Two Children - Religious Ed classes" - $225 total for the family plus fees.

If one or more of your child(ren) is also receiving First Communion & Reconciliation or Confirmation this year, please also select Sacramental Prep (for an additional $100 plus fees per child).
