NCRF CART Captioning Training Grant

Application deadline: Friday, November 20, 2026

I attest that I meet the following requirements:

• I am a current member of NCRA in good standing.
• I hold at a minimum an RPR and preferably some realtime certification (CRC or CRR).
• I demonstrate realtime accuracy of at least 96 percent in judicial settings.
• I possess all qualities exemplified by a professional court reporter including attitude, demeanor, dress, and motivation.
• I have a desire to learn a new skill set for CART that starts with assessment and ends with individualized mentoring and hands-on training.
• I have a desire to learn about the communities served, understand the role a CART provider performs, and a willingness to ensure the text is always readable and understandable.
• I am not a current NCRA Board member.

Describe your motivation for pursuing CART captioning training through the NCRF CART Captioning Training Grant. Include:

• Why you want to expand your professional skills into CART captioning.
• What value you believe CART services provide to individuals and communities.
• How this training and mentorship will help you achieve your career goals and contribute to greater communication accessibility.
