Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation Single Parent Household Grant
The Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation Single Parent Families Grant helps eligible single-parent families in Philadelphia remove a financial barrier that may prevent their child from participating in a meaningful out-of-school enrichment, educational, developmental, or wellness opportunity.
Eligible families may receive a one-time grant of up to $1,000 per family. Grant funds are not paid to the parent or child. If selected, Caring People Alliance will pay one approved program or service provider directly on behalf of the family.
Before You Apply!
Please read these requirements carefully. Applications that do not meet the eligibility requirements or do not provide the requested information may not advance to review.
Your Family Must Meet All Eligibility Requirements
- Single-Parent Household: The applicant must meet the program's definition of a single-parent household and provide the required verification.
- Philadelphia Residency: The family must live within the City of Philadelphia and provide proof of residency.
- Child's Age: The child must be at least 5 years old and no older than 18 years old as of September 1, 2026.
- Low-Income Household: The family must meet the program's low-income requirements and provide the requested documentation.
- One-Time Grant: If your family has previously received a Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation Single Parent Families Grant, your family is not eligible to receive another award.
What the Grant Can Support
The grant is intended for a specific program or opportunity that will enhance your child's growth, skills, confidence, development, or well-being outside of their regular school day. Examples may include:
- After-school or enrichment programs
- Tutoring
- Summer or specialty camps
- Sports programs
- Swim lessons
- Dance, music, or art programs
- Martial arts
- Youth wellness or mental health programs
- Other clearly identified enrichment opportunities that align with the purpose of the grant
You must identify the specific program or provider you are requesting funding for and explain how participating would benefit your child.
What the Grant Cannot Pay For
This grant cannot be used for:
- Rent, utilities, or household bills
- Groceries or general family expenses
- Cash or payments directly to a parent or child
- Reimbursement for expenses already paid
- School tuition
- General daycare or childcare expenses
- General clothing, school supplies, electronics, or other household purchases
- Requests that do not identify a specific enrichment program or provide.
If your primary request is for one of the expenses above, this grant is not the appropriate funding source.
One Application Per Family
Submit one application for your household. If you are requesting support for more than one eligible child, include each child within that application.
The maximum award is $1,000 total per family, not $1,000 per child, and only one provider may receive payment.
If You Are Selected
Selection is not guaranteed. This is a competitive grant program, and all eligible applications will be reviewed after the application period closes.
Before payment can be issued:
- Eligibility and application documentation will be verified.
- The approved provider must be able to receive payment directly from Caring People Alliance.
- Required vendor and payment documentation must be completed.
- Grant funds must be used within six months of the award date or the award may be forfeited.
Please submit complete and accurate information and review your application carefully before the deadline.
