2027 Trainee Representative Call for Nominations

The Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) is seeking nominations for the next Trainee Representative to the SSR Board of Directors.

The Trainee Representative is an elected trainee leadership position within SSR, serving as the voice of trainees in Society governance and as Chair of the Trainee Affairs Committee (TAC).

This 2-year position offers opportunities to develop leadership experience, contribute to strategic decision-making, create educational and career programming, and work closely with SSR leadership, while making a lasting impact on the trainee community.

Nomination forms will be reviewed and scored by the Trainee Affairs Committee. The top two candidates will be selected by the Board of Directors and listed on a ballot for voting by all current Trainee Members of SSR.

Notice of election results will occur in Spring 2027 and Junior Trainee Representative obligations will begin following the Board of Directors meeting during the 2027 SSR Annual Meeting.

Position Highlights

Serve as a voting member of the SSR Board of Directors
Serve as Co-Chair (Year 1) and then Chair (Year 2) of the Trainee Affairs Committee, representing trainee interests within Society leadership
Organize trainee-focused programs throughout the year and at the Annual Meeting
Gain valuable experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning and professional governance

Qualifications

Must be a SSR Trainee Member in good standing
Commit 3 years as Junior (Year 1), Senior (Year 2), and Past (Year 3) Trainee Representative
Active engagement with SSR through Annual Meeting attendance, committee service, volunteer activities, trainee programming or other SSR initiatives
A demonstrated commitment to serving and advocating for trainee members
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and project management skills
At least two years of graduate-level training at the time of application

A letter of recommendation is required from an individual who can speak to the candidate’s leadership experience. The letter must be sent directly from the recommender to info@ssr.org by the deadline. All letters of recommendation are kept confidential with the SSR Board of Directors.

The deadline to submit nominations is November 13, 2026.
