ISDS Early Career Surgeon Grant Application

Submission Deadline: October 1, 2026
Travel grant awards are available for the ISDS meeting for early-career spine surgeons. Qualified applicants must be:
- Residents, fellows, or surgeons in their first 3 years of practice
- United States-based MDs or DOs
Recipients will receive complimentary course registration plus up to $950 toward travel expenses.

Early Career Surgeon grant recipients will be required to attend an industry-supported dinner on Friday evening, and to sign in for the Saturday morning case discussions.

Early Career grants will be awarded based on seniority and institutional diversity. Priority will be given to abstract presenters.

A tax form is required for ISDS to disburse award funds, should you receive the grant. The ISDS Early Career Surgeon Grant program is available to medical school graduates based in the United States. A W-9 form is required with your application (download available below.) Note that if you do not have a U.S. Tax ID, you can submit a W-8 form instead. If you submit a W-8 form, appropriate taxes will be withheld from the grant check as per IRS guidelines (approximately30% but varies by country.)
