    Position Overview

    Muslim Food Bank & Community Services Society is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Caseworker to support clients through the ASPIRE Program in Calgary.

    This role focuses on connecting individuals and families with appropriate resources, developing personalized action plans, and helping clients work toward greater stability, independence, and self-reliance.

    The ASPIRE Program focuses on six core areas: Food Insecurity, Housing, Education, Skills Development, Employment, and Mental Health Support.

    Through the ASPIRE Program, MFBCS provides case management and practical support designed to help clients access resources, overcome barriers, and work toward long-term self-reliance.


    Duties & Responsibilities

    Client Engagement & Support

    • Meet with clients and assess their individual needs, challenges, and goals.
    • Prepare detailed and client-focused action plans.
    • Facilitate client registration with the ASPIRE Program.
    • Provide ongoing guidance as clients work toward greater stability and self-reliance.
    • Maintain a compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive approach when supporting clients.

    Resource Connection

    • Connect clients with appropriate community services, programs, and resources.
    • Support clients with practical activities such as learning to use public transportation.
    • Assist clients with registering for available programs and benefits.
    • Provide cultural orientation and practical guidance when required.
    • Help clients access services identified through their personalized action plans.

    Holistic Client Support

    • Support clients across the ASPIRE Program's core service areas.
    • Assist clients facing food insecurity and housing challenges.
    • Connect clients with education and skills development opportunities.
    • Support clients with employment-related needs and available resources.
    • Connect clients with appropriate mental health support services.
    • Act as a liaison between clients and community resources.

    Community Outreach & Program Promotion

    • Promote MFBCS and the ASPIRE Program within the community.
    • Conduct outreach to businesses, community groups, and other organizations.
    • Participate in presentations and community engagement activities.
    • Help strengthen awareness of available MFBCS programs and services.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain detailed and accurate client records.
    • Use the organization's computerized case management system to document client activity.
    • Track client progress and completed action plan activities.
    • Prepare regular reports on client support activities and outcomes.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling client information.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Diploma in Social Services, degree in Psychology, or education in a related field.
    • Previous experience in case management is preferred.
    • Experience within a nonprofit, community service, or similar environment is considered an asset.

    Language Skills

    • Proficiency in clients' native languages is highly desirable.
