  • Dottie Field is an ordinary five‑year‑old girl who lives happily with her mum and dad in the little village of Swan Dopley on the Marsh.

    But Dottie’s imagination is anything but ordinary, and when she drifts into a daydream – which happens rather a lot – it leaves the grown‑ups in her life quite flustered, from ballet teachers to swimming instructors, from coach drivers to famous actresses.

    And when those daydreams suddenly come true, and Dottie starts doing all the grown‑up jobs far better than the grown‑ups themselves, they become absolutely furious.

    In many ways, life would be simpler if Dottie stayed as Dottie Field and never turned into Dottie Daydream at all. 

    But it certainly wouldn’t be half as magical
