✝️ Bible & Spiritual Development
At The Hill School, Bible is more than a class—it is the foundation of who we are. From our youngest Hedgehogs through 6th grade, students participate in developmentally appropriate Bible instruction designed to help them know God, understand His Word, grow in their faith, and most importantly, know that God’s Word is true.
Using GO! Curriculum, students experience Scripture through engaging Bible lessons, storytelling, hands-on activities, prayer, worship, Scripture memory, discussion, and daily small-group experiences. Even our youngest students begin hearing biblical truths and learning that they are created by God, loved by God, and have a special purpose.
As students grow, Bible instruction grows with them. Students learn important Bible stories and verses while also developing the practical skills needed to use their own Bibles, locate Scripture, understand what they are reading, ask meaningful questions, and apply God’s Word to everyday situations.
💚 Faith in Action
Each Monday, our school community is introduced to a Character Focus of the Week, connecting biblical truth with qualities such as kindness, courage, honesty, perseverance, compassion, gratitude, responsibility, and service. Throughout the week, students are challenged to put that character trait into action at school, at home, and in their relationships with others.
On Wednesdays, our PreK4 through 6th grade students bring their Bibles and gather for Mid-Week Chapel, where we worship together, pray, learn from Scripture, and grow as a school family.
And every Friday, we finish the week with one of our favorite THS traditions—the Hedgehog Hero Rally! Students who have demonstrated the week’s Character Focus are recognized and celebrated in front of their peers. We want our students to understand that biblical character isn’t simply something we talk about—it’s something we live out.
Our goal extends far beyond helping children memorize Bible stories and verses. We want students to leave The Hill School knowing how to open God’s Word when they need wisdom, how to turn to Him in prayer, how to love and serve others, and how to confidently live out their faith.
Above all, there is one truth we want every Hill School student—from our smallest Hedgehog to our graduating 6th graders—to carry with them:
God loves you. God created you with purpose. And God’s Word is true.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
