The Open Education National Summit brings together delegates from across the U.S. open education field to build shared national priorities. The summit takes place November 10–12, 2026, at the Hilton Chicago.
Each delegate represents a community, network, or region, and is responsible for bringing that community's perspective into the summit's working sessions and carrying the outcomes back home.
The summit is the culmination of a national priorities process the Open Education Association is facilitating, with a focus on the challenges facing higher education and how open education can help solve them. The process runs through listening sessions from August to October, a draft set of priorities shared in late October, and the summit itself in November, where delegates finalize the priorities and start building plans to advance them.
