• Delegate Application | Open Education National Summit

  • The Open Education National Summit brings together delegates from across the U.S. open education field to build shared national priorities. The summit takes place November 10–12, 2026, in downtown Chicago.

Each delegate represents a community, network, or region, and is responsible for bringing that community's perspective into the summit's working sessions and carrying the outcomes back to the open community.

The summit is the culmination of a national priorities process the Open Education Association is facilitating, with a focus on the challenges facing higher education and how open education can help solve them. The process includes listening sessions from August to October, drafting a set of priorities shared in late October, and the summit itself in November, where delegates finalize the priorities and start building plans to advance them.

Read more about the delegate's purpose, responsibilities, and eligibility criteria here.

Applications are due by September 14, 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are encouraged for the best opportunity to be considered.

The Summit Organizing Committee reviews applications and selects delegates based on selection criteria. Decisions will be communicated by September 25th, 2026.
