    Student Scholarship Application 2026
  • DEADLINE: October 1st , 2026

  • Applications are reviewed by the Education/Scholarship Committee of the Northwest Michigan Skilled Trades Foundation. To be considered, all applicants must complete the first four (4) criteria and are strongly encouraged to consider submitting the letter noted in criteria #6.
  • $10,000 Available for the 2026/2027 School Year
    Scholarships are available multiple years for each applicant.
  • CRITERIA:

  • 1. Applicant's chosen field of study must relate to the Home Building Industry, to include construction trades and supporting industries; landscaping, mortgage lending, architectural design, kitchen design, accounting, energy, environmental, interior design, real estate and utilities.
    2. Must be a Resident of one of the Five (5) Counties: Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau or Kalkaska County.
    3. Minimum (Cumulative) Grade Point Average must be at least 2.5 on a 4-Point Scale. (Must Provide Copy of Current Transcript/Grade Report/Certificate of Completion)
    4. Must attend Northwestern Michigan College or an NMC Program During 2025/20206 Academic Year
    5. Must Demonstrate Community Involvement, Leadership and/or Service.
    6. Applicants are encouraged to submit a letter of reference/recommendation as a supplement to your application - preferably written by an active member of the Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area.
