ALL 8th grade band members are invited to join the Alpharetta High School Marching Raiders at a varsity football game on Friday, September 11th, 2026. This exciting opportunity gives our middle school musicians a fi rst glimpse into the high school band experience. The AHS Marching Band is one of the most elite and visible teams on campus, and we’re thrilled to welcome future members for a night of music, fun, and Raider pride!
What should the student wear?
Students should wear shorts and tennis shoes for this game. Every 8th grade band student will receive an Alpharetta Band t-shirt when they arrive at the high school on Friday, September 5th. We will ask that all students wear that shirt during the football game.
Schedule for Friday, September 11th, 2026
4:05 pm – WBMS and HMS - School day ends
5:45 pm – 8th grade band students report to Alpharetta High School with their instruments (Parking and/or student drop off will be in the bus lane entrance of AHS. Students will then gather in the Cafe).
6:00 pm –Pizza dinner in the AHS Cafe with the AHS band students
6:00 pm - Parent meeting in the AHS Media Center - See details below.
6:45 pm - AHS marching band students and 8th grade band students walk to the stadium
7:30 pm – Football game begins
Approx. 8:45pm - HALFTIME PERFORMANCE FOR THE AHS MARCHING BAND (8th grade band students will watch the performance from the stands)
Approx. 9:00pm - Students will walk back to the Cafe to collect their instrument cases and enjoy a sweet treat and socialize with the high school band members.
Approx. 9:30pm – Dismissal from Alpharetta High School (Parents are to pick students up from the bus lanes)
**At 6:00pm - we will be hosting an informational parent meeting in the AHS Media Center for all WBMS and HMS band parents - This will be a great opportunity for parents to learn about the upcoming transition from 8th grade to 9th grade. High School Band has a lot to offer, so you want to hear about some exciting opportunities coming up for your students as they enter high school! Once this meeting is finished, parents will have the opportunity to purchase tickets and attend the game.
Note: The Media Center is located right near where you park at the bus lanes - please just check your child in at the only door near the bus lanes and the media center is very close to this location.
There will be plenty of AHS Band Students helping parents and students find the correct place to go!
**Following the meeting, all parents are welcome to attend the game. Parents and family members will need to purchase tickets for the game as only the student gets into the game for free with the band.
At approximately 9:30 pm, all MS band students will be dismissed to go home. Middle school band parents will need to pick up their children from the bus lane at AHS. Students may stay for the remainder of the game only if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian - they cannot return to the stands with the AHS Band.
