Why Grow, Eat, and Support Organic?
Description:
Join us for an evening of food, conversation, and learning about organic agriculture from people working in the field. Hear from organic farmers and leaders about the practices, experiences, and values that shape organic agriculture—from growing and caring for the land to building strong farms and communities. We’ll be joined by special guest Javier Zamora of JSM Organics, a second-generation organic farmer who has grown his California farm from 1.5 acres to 200 acres while incorporating practices such as cover cropping, low-till farming, hedgerows, crop rotation, and conservation easements. The evening will include dinner, a conversation with our speakers, and a sunset farm tour at Red Acre Farm. Whether you’re a farmer, flower grower, vintner, chef, farmers market shopper, supporter of local agriculture, or simply interested in learning more about organic—from seed to plate—we invite you to join the conversation. Come learn, ask questions, share experiences, and explore what organic agriculture can look like on the farm and in our communities.
