  • a) A Summer calf (Cloverbud’s only) will be born between June 1 and June 30, 2026. b) A Junior calf will be born between Jan. 1 and April 30, 2026. c) A Senior calf will be born between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2025. If less than 3 animals in a class, classes maybe be combined with another breed class.

C) A Winter Calf is born between Dec. 1, 2025, and Feb. 29, 2026. D) A Fall Calf is born between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, 2025. E) A Summer Yearling will be born between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2025. F) A Spring Yearling will be born between March 1 and May 31, 2025. • All calves must have been shown by the 4-H member at their 4-H Club Achievement Day. • It is recommended that 4-H dairy project members follow the Rules and Regulations for Showing Dairy Cattle as set out by Holstein Canada and Canadian Dairy Breeds.   • Each 4H member is to show 4H membership card and proof of age.
    All animals must be registered by May 31st, 2026 as per 4H regulations.

    The deadline for rabbit registration is July 1, 2026.

    4H exhibitors will NOT be permitted to show in 4H classes if not registered.
    All livestock exhibitors are required to comply with new federal legislation by providing PID numbers.  The ACE is not responsible for monitoring exhibitor compliance.
    A Cloverbud member shall be one whose age is between 6 and 8 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
    A Junior member shall be one whose age is between 9 and 13 years as of January 1, 2026.
    A Senior member shall be one whose age is between 14 and 21 years as of January 1, 2026
    Heat cycle (estrus) is not an acceptable reason for substituting an animal for showmanship.
    All members must show their own 4-H animals.
    No stallions permitted. The only bulls permitted are those registered in the Junior Bull class.
    Champions and reserves from each project’s showmanship class will compete in the Overall Showmanship Competition. All participants must wear hard soled shoes or boots for safety reasons.

    All members must wear a large 4-H crest. No hats allowed except for horse members where permitted.
    Members must show their own project animals unless he/she is exhibiting more than 1 animal in a class. Then the member must show one animal and another member(s) must show the other. If a Cloverbud is showing livestock a parent or guardian must be present at all times when they are working with or exhibiting their project animal.
    Coaching of 4-H members from the side-lines is prohibited.
    Vaccinations are strongly recommended for all livestock. Please consult your veterinarian for guidelines on a vaccination program for your animal.
    You can only participate in the showmanship class in the project you achieved in.
