Do you enjoy reading books and have a clear, pleasant speaking voice?
Happiness Data, a nonprofit organization, is looking for volunteers who enjoy reading and would like to help bring books to a wider audience by narrating an audiobook.
This is a flexible opportunity to read one of three books by author Dane E. Rose, explore ideas about happiness, well-being, and meaningful living, and potentially use your voice to help create an audiobook for others to enjoy.
What You’ll Do
Volunteers will be asked to:
- Choose one of three books by Dane E. Rose that interests you.
- Read the book and consider how the ideas relate to your own experiences, interests, or life.
- Record a short audio sample of yourself reading a chapter or selected page from the book.
- If selected, work with us on narrating the complete audiobook.
The initial audio sample allows us to evaluate your voice, clarity, pronunciation, pacing, expression, and overall suitability for audiobook narration.
Who We’re Looking For
You don't need professional narration experience. We are primarily looking for people who:
- Enjoy reading books about well-being, happiness, and meaningful ideas
- Have a pleasant, clear and engaging speaking voice
- Are comfortable reading aloud in English
- Can communicate clearly and naturally
- Have a quiet place to record
- Have access to a suitable microphone or recording setup
- Are reliable and able to complete the agreed reading and recording assignments
- Enjoy supporting a nonprofit and helping meaningful ideas reach more people
