• Building Artistic Communities that Support LGBTQ+ Students, Staff, and Families

  • Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of adult allies to LGBTQ+ students and explore the specific ways in which they can educate, advocate and support LGBTQ+ students and promote safe learning environments for all students. This is an asynchronous course. By the end of the course, participants will synthesize and apply what they learned into a final Arts Integrated Project that showcases best practices for supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in educational settings.

    This course will be limited to 15 participants. All interested participants must submit an application by September 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. to be considered for this cohort. Submitting this form does not guarantee acceptance to the course.

    The is an asynchronous course that runs October 1 - November 23. This allows learners to access and complete materials at their own pace and schedule, without needing to be online at the same time as the instructor or other learners. 

    Successful completion of Maryland Centers for Creative Classrooms Building Artistic Communities that Support LGBTQ+ Students, Staff, and Families makes you eligible to receive PDPs upon completion. All grading and PDP credit(s) will be awarded by December 31.
