  • Rise & Shine Challenge

  • Participants will start by preparing their own breakfast, including a customizable microwave egg breakfast sandwich, fruit-and-yogurt parfait, and a morning drink. Along the way, they’ll practice simple kitchen skills, following directions, making choices, and cleaning up.

Next, we’ll take on a fun morning Hygiene Challenge designed to help participants think about why everyday hygiene habits matter. Through an interactive activity, we’ll explore how the choices we make while getting ready can affect how we feel, how others respond to us, and how prepared we are for the day.

Then it’s time for Chore Wars! Participants will divide into teams and compete in timed rounds to tackle a mock messy bedroom. They’ll earn points for completing different bedroom tasks before time runs out. After each round, the room resets and the next competitors take their turn.

Rise & Shine Challenge combines practical independent-living skills, problem-solving, teamwork, friendly competition, and plenty of fun while practicing routines participants can use every day.

Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops provides small, supportive creative workshops for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to build confidence, foster creativity, and encourage meaningful friendships through theater, improv, visual arts, storytelling, and creative life enrichment experiences. Workshops are led by me, Ms. Lindsay, along with my assistant, Ms. Amanda Guarnero. To help create a positive experience for everyone, Participants should be able to engage safely and respectfully in group activities with the support provided by Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops. My goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where every participant feels valued, has the opportunity to express themselves creatively, discover new strengths, and build lasting friendships.
