Course Scheduling

In-person:

Please consult with your speakers about their availability for 3-4 and 7-8 April 2027 before answering the questions below. We will use your responses to create our draft schedule.

Quality College is organized in four-hour instructional blocks, generally from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, with a lunch in between.
- Half-day courses will be scheduled for either the morning or afternoon block. Full-day courses will cover both the morning and afternoon black, and two-day courses will cover four blocks over the two days.
- Only four-hour courses can be scheduled for Wednesday, 7 April, and will be offset by a half-hour to run from 1:30 - 5:30 PM.
While we endeavor to accommodate date preferences and/or restrictions, courses with more flexible availability have a greater chance of placement in our program.

Virtual:

We typically host virtual courses in the weeks preceding or following the in-person Quality College. We will contact virtual courses separately to arrange a suitable date.

Virtual courses are presented in 4.5 hour blocks (4 hours of instructional time with a 30-minute break) from 10:00 AM EST to 2:30 PM EST. This schedule both allows participants to work at other times of the day and also meets the time zone needs of 90% of SQA's usual range of participants.

Unless a different course length is proposed, courses will use one of the following schedules:
- 4-hour course (formerly half-day) = 1 day via Zoom, 10:00 AM-2:30 PM
- 8-hour course (formerly full-day or one-day) = 2 days via Zoom, 10:00 AM-2:30 PM each day
- 16-hour course (formerly two-day) = 4 days via Zoom, 10:00 AM-2:30 PM each day

FOR VIRTUAL COURSES: Interactive Exercises and Breakout Group Facilitator Plan
We would ask all courses with a virtual component to plan some interactive exercises in your course that will engage virtual attendees, reinforce the lessons from the training, keep their attention, and help them network with their fellow attendees as well. IF YOU ARE PLANNING BREAKOUT ROOMS/ACTIVITIES, our experience indicates that each group should have a designated facilitator or leader (speaker or planned group facilitator) to encourage participation; please include your plans for this as well.
