Thank you for your interest in serving on the Las Sendas Community Association Board of Directors. Please read this application thoroughly, answer all questions, and complete all fields
The Board of Directors is an integral part of the community and is responsible for the Association's affairs. The following are some of the qualifications and expectations of board members:

Qualifications
- Must be a member of the Association.
- A genuine interest in serving the community without hidden or personal agendas.
- A skill set that is beneficial to the board and community, such as experience in business, management, finance, planning, project management, marketing or communications.
- An ability to listen, consider different perspectives and make informed decisions in the best interest of the Association and community.
- Inquisitive, thoughtful, respectful and open-minded when discussing and debating decisions.
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Time & Participation
- A commitment of approximately 10 to 25 hours per month, including preparing for and participating in workshops and monthly board meetings, responding to emails, attending training opportunities and serving on committees or working groups.
- A commitment to attend regular board meetings for the duration of the term.
- Participation in at least one committee or working group, some of which meet twice per month.
Commitment to Las Sendas
- A commitment to uphold the Las Sendas Vision and Mission, along with all community-related documents and guidelines.
- A commitment to abide by the code of conduct signed by all community volunteers, including board members.
Officer Requirements

Board officers are appointed by the Board following the election. If appointed as president, vice president, treasurer or secretary, you will be required to complete a background check and obtain a fingerprint clearance card to help Las Sendas maintain its Massage Establishment License with the City of Mesa.
Code of Conduct & Conflict of Interest Notice

All Las Sendas volunteers, including board members, must sign a code of conduct when appointed to a committee, working group or advisory group. This code of conduct includes a clause about conflicts of interest:

“If any service agreement, contract, decision or other action for compensation taken by or on behalf of the Board would benefit any Committee or Group member; or any person who is a parent, grandparent, spouse, child or sibling of a Committee or Group member; or a parent or spouse of any of those persons, that Committee or Group member shall declare a conflict of interest for that issue and should recuse himself or herself from a Committee’s or Group’s deliberation and voting. The Committee or Group member shall also declare the conflict in an open board meeting before the Board discusses or takes action on that issue.”
