  • About the Workshop

    Who is this for?

    This training is for both professionals and the general public.

    Through this training, you will gain practical skills to identify, approach, and assist others, as well as provide suicide intervention support to others in need.

    Participants who complete the training will be certified as an ASIST Suicide Prevention Champion.

     

    Objectives of the workshop:

    • Comprehend the impact of personal and societal attitudes on suicide views and interventions.
    • Provide guidance and suicide first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs.
    • Identify and implement effective suicide safety plans, while promoting community-wide integration of prevention resources and acknowledging the importance of life-promotion and self-care.
  • Dr Annabelle Chow, Chief Clinical Psychologist

  • The Trainer: 

    Dr Annabelle Chow

    Chief Clinical Psychologist at Annabelle Psychology, registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP), and accredited by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

    Dr Annabelle has worked in hospital, educational and community settings in Australia and Singapore. She is a clinical supervisor, and a certified ASIST trainer with LivingWorks Education to provide suicide prevention workshops. She regularly works with patients with complex trauma, personality disorders, or are at risk of suicide and self-harm.

  • Rob Nicolls, ASIST Trainer

  • The Trainer: 

    Rob Nicolls

    With over 40 years of experience in human services, worked with organisations including Wesley Mission Melbourne, UnitingCare Community Options and CBM Australia. He is also an ordained pastor and currently works with churches through CBM Australia’s Luke14 initiative to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.

    Rob has been involved in ASIST training since LivingWorks was introduced in Australia in 1996. He has since led more than 200 ASIST workshops across various sectors, including mental health, disability, homelessness and youth justice.

        TERMS

        Applications are accepted on a first-come, first- served basis. This form must be accompanied by payment to reserve a slot. Your payment will be returned if there are no places available.

        By submitting this application form, you agree to these terms and fully release and discharge us from any and all claims for injury, damages or loss which might arise out of or in connection with this training.

        REFUNDS

        Refunds (less 10%) are only given for cancellations received by 5pm on 15 September 2026. Due to limited places, we do not offer refunds beyond this date. Cancellations must be received in writing to appointments@apsy.sg. In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control, the training will be postponed, and we will provide an alternative date for this course to be run within a 12-month period.
