Terms and Conditions
The purpose of this policy is to promote the use of natural gas on Greer CPW’s natural gas system through incentives when converting alternate fuel (propane, fuel oil, electric) appliances to natural gas or installing new natural gas appliances. This policy applies only to appliances approved by Greer CPW.
Eligibility Requirements: Available to any residential customer where Greer CPW natural gas service is provided. Customer must convert an alternate fuel (propane, fuel oil, electric) appliance to natural gas or install new natural gas appliances in new or existing residential buildings to receive the incentive rebate. The natural gas appliances available for this incentive program are as follows:
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing
new primary natural gas heating systems such as natural gas furnaces, natural gas combination units (gas packs) or vented natural gas space heaters will receive a refund incentive of $400.00. The refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is complete and an inspection by the appropriate building code authority is performed and approved.
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing new natural gas hot water heating systems such as standard tank natural gas hot water heaters or tankless (instantaneous) natural gas hot water heaters will receive a refund incentive of $250.00. The refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is complete and an inspection by the appropriate building code authority is performed and approved.
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing
new natural gas cooktops and/or ovens will receive a refund incentive of
$100.00. The refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is
complete and an inspection by the appropriate building code authority is
performed and approved. All-natural gas cooktops and/or ovens shall be
equipped with electric ignition built into the control knobs. Cooktops and/or ovens with standing (raw) pilot lights will not qualify for this gas appliance incentive program.
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing
new natural gas clothes dryers will receive a refund incentive of $100.00. The
refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is complete and an
inspection by the appropriate building code authority is performed and approved.
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing
new natural gas pool heaters will receive a refund incentive of $300.00. The
refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is complete and an
inspection by the appropriate building code authority is performed and approved.
- Customers converting from alternative fuel sources to natural gas or installing
new natural gas generators will receive a refund incentive of $100.00. The refund will be issued after the installation of the appliance is complete and an inspection by the appropriate building code authority is performed and approved.
**** This incentive program does not apply to customers that have existing natural gas appliances needing to be replaced.
Appliances must be converted or installed by experienced contractors licensed in South Carolina. A permit is also required by the appropriate building code authority where the customer’s home is located.
An application for refund must be submitted and approved before refund is issued. Applications should include the proof of installation (copy of receipt/invoice/contract) and/or copy of the proof of purchase (sales receipt). Application of rebate should be received within 180 days of the date of the conversion or installation. Rebates only apply to appliances converted or installed after the date of January 25, 2021 when Greer CPW approved the program. Gas meter must be set before rebate can be issued. This promotion may be discontinued or modified at any time by Greer CPW without notice.
