- FFA meeting attendance
- Volunteer/service opportunities

Good Standing Requirements
A member is considered to be in good standing when they have met all of the following requirements during the current membership year:
- Attended at least two (2) official FFA meetings.
- Participated in at least one (1) approved volunteer/service activity
(examples include roadside cleanup, Stay Safe & Sweet, parades, care package assembly, etc.).

- Members must be in good standing to participate in chapter-sponsored FFA activities that require chapter approval, funding, or representation of the Melrose-Mindoro FFA Chapter.
County & State Fair Eligibility
Members exhibiting under the Melrose-Mindoro FFA at county or state fairs must be in good standing.
Participation in chapter fundraisers is strongly encouraged for all members. However, members exhibiting livestock or projects at the county or state fair are not required to meet the fundraiser requirement in order to maintain eligibility to exhibit under the chapter, provided they meet the remaining good standing requirements.
State FFA Band & Choir
Members applying to participate in the Wisconsin State FFA Band or Choir must be in good standing at the time of application. Members who are not in good standing may still apply; however, they will be responsible for all associated costs, including but not limited to:
- State FFA Band/Choir application fees
- State Convention registration, lodging, and meals
- Music and rehearsal materials
- Wisconsin State Fair expenses
- Any other required participation costs
The Melrose-Mindoro FFA Chapter will only provide financial support for State FFA Honors Choir/Band members who are in good standing.
- State FFA Band and Choir members will receive transportation to the Wisconsin State FFA Convention from a Melrose-Mindoro School District employee or approved volunteer chaperone.
- State FFA Band and Choir members are responsible for their own transportation to and from all required events at the Wisconsin State Fair.
FFA Graduation Cord Requirements
- Be a paid FFA member during the senior year.
- Be in good standing.
- Maintain active FFA membership for a minimum of two years.
- Students who transfer to Melrose-Mindoro and were active members of their previous FFA chapter may have that time counted toward this requirement. Previous FFA involvement must be verified by Mrs. Dobbs.
- Participate in at least:
- 6 chapter meetings
- 6 service or volunteer activities
- 6 chapter activities (CDEs, LDEs, conferences, fairs, Food for America, Dairy Bar, officer, committees, etc.)
- Have no outstanding chapter obligations (fees, borrowed equipment, jackets, etc.).
Receiving an FFA graduation cord is a recognition of sustained commitment to the Melrose-Mindoro FFA Chapter. Membership alone does not guarantee eligibility.
NOTE: Graduation cord requirements will officially take effect beginning with the graduating Class of 2028. Students graduating prior to the Class of 2028 will be evaluated based on available participation records and overall involvement in the Melrose-Mindoro FFA Chapter.
Final determination of eligibility for graduation cords for these students will be made by the FFA Advisor(s).
Members in the Class of 2027 are strongly encouraged to begin following these expectations, as active participation and involvement will be considered when determining eligibility.
Good Standing, Communication & Advisor Discretion:
Good standing requirements are intended to encourage active participation and are not meant to be punitive. Members who are not in good standing remain members of the Melrose-Mindoro FFA Chapter but may be ineligible for certain activities, events, trips, leadership opportunities, or recognitions.
Members who are unable to meet expectations due to extenuating circumstances are expected to communicate with the FFA Advisor(s) as soon as possible. Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis. The Melrose-Mindoro FFA Advisor(s) reserve the right to determine good standing in situations involving disciplinary action, code of conduct violations, extenuating circumstances, or situations not specifically addressed in this policy. Determinations regarding good standing and any exceptions are at the discretion of the Melrose-Mindoro FFA Advisor(s).
