Coaches are invited to apply for the World Gymnastics Level 2 Coaching Academy which will be held across January 2027 in Victoria and Queensland, Australia.
Course overview
The World Gymnastics Level 2 Academy courses are a fully immersive experience and run from the end of September 2026, concluding with a five day residential face-to-face course in January 2027.
The curriculum goes beyond theory lectures delivered online and incorporates a comprehensive range of content. Developed in collaboration with renowned experts, it includes both Core Skills and Tactical Skills, ensuring a holistic performance coach education program. This curriculum encompasses crucial areas such as performance planning, injury management and recovery, designing the learning environment, reflection, quality performance coaching, and a number of other areas key to coaching success.
World Gymnastics theory content covers essential topics including anatomy, biomechanics, physiology and psychology, and the practical component is equally extensive. It consists of intensive technical sessions designed to provide hands-on experience and proficiency in all apparatus or technical requirements specific to each gymnastics code.
By integrating both theoretical and practical elements, this curriculum is similar to the Advanced coaching course but with extensions in some areas, and aims to equip you with a holistic understanding of gymnastics coaching.
