  • AGREEMENTS

  • I understand by signing this contract it does not guarantee purchase of a Splendor Farms puppy or to be put on a waiting list. If you are approved we will keep in contact with you about which dachshunds we have available, when upcoming litters are expected, and where you stand on the waiting list. Thank you for your interest in a Splendor Farms dachshund. We will contact you as soon as possible.

    • Are you aware most of our dachshunds are sold as pets and must be spayed or neutered? Proof of the spay or neuter procedure must be provided to us.
    • Are you willing to send in this proof for our records?
    • Do you agree to comply with our dachshund contract? Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied to the total purchase price of your dachshund. Are you aware that the deposit is non-refundable? Do you agree to this? Any monies paid towards a dachshund are non-refundable. If you change your mind about a dachshund, no money will be refunded.
    • You can put the paid money towards another dachshund.
    • We do not ship our dachshunds. Are you aware of this?
    • I understand that the balance for the dachshund is due at pick up or delivery.
    • Splendor Farms agrees to keep the puppies up to 11 weeks of age. If it becomes necessary for the a puppy to stay beyond this age for your convenience, there will be a $10 per day boarding fee.
    • If the dachshund's next set of vaccinations/ worming is due prior to pick up these will be administered by Splendor Farms at your cost, i.e. vaccinations/$25.00, worming/$15.00.

  • CONDITIONS OF SALE

  • MAINTENANCE

    • Buyer agrees to maintain this dog in good health, provide routine preventative health care including, but not limited to, dentals, ear, nail, & teeth care, inoculations and internal and external parasite treatments for fleas, tick & heartworms.
    • Veterinary records must be provided to breeder if requesting refund or replacement. If any of the above preventative care has not been provided, health warranty will be void.
    • Buyer also agrees to provide, at minimum, basic obedience training for dog by a certified trainer or by Buyer, with the use of books, videos, of verbal advice by a certified trainer.

  • TEMPERAMENT

    • Buyer understands that all dachshunds can exhibit certain undesirable behaviors (nipping, chewing, barking, marking, etc).
    • Buyer is responsible for appropriate training of dachshund to correctly teach acceptable behaviors, and is responsible for proper socialization of dachshund. Should Buyer not be successful at training these behaviors on their own, Buyer agrees to seek professional help from a certified trainer should it become necessary.
    • There are no cash refunds for any dog returned for behavior problems. Seller will not be responsible for dachshund's temperament once the dachshund has left the farm.
    • We require that you have your dachshund spayed or neutered within the time recommended by your vet. Failure to do so or to provide documentation to this affect will void the health guarantee and could possibly result in legal proceedings.

  • FULL AND FINAL AGREEMENT

  • The parties agree that this writing represents the entire Agreement between them and that no other representations have been made regarding the dog described above. I agree to the items listed in the conditions of sale.
    I have answered all of the above questions truthfully. I understand that if any intentionally false answers have been given, Splendor Farms reserves the right not to sell to me.
    By signing below, I agree to the re-home and spay/neuter policy as explained above. I also agree to the Health requirements and guarantee as specified in the conditions of sale.

    • Seller guarantees that at the time of delivery, the dog is in good health. Should the dog be found to be in poor health of a serious nature that is diagnosed as permanently life-altering by a veterinarian, Seller will provide the Buyer with a replacement dog from another litter after the dog is returned to the Seller at Buyer's expense. Shipping costs or additional vaccination/worming costs will not be refunded.
  • The following conditions apply to the sale of the aforementioned dog:

  • The Buyer has THREE (3) days from the time of receipt of the dog to have the dog examined by a veterinarian, which includes a fecal test. Any request to return the dog to the Seller for a replacement dog must be made within this time period and may only be requested should the dog be found to have a health issue of such serious nature that the quality of life of the dog will be shortened or seriously altered. Minor health ailments including, but not limited to, fleas, worms, ear mites/yeast or stress-induced diarrhea aka coccidia, or giardia, due to the dog's transition from the Seller's home are not a reason for the dog to be returned to Seller. We do strive to produce a certain look but we do not guarantee size, color, or appearance.

  • This warranty will be terminated immediately if the dog is not examined within the allotted time. A warranty against all serious life-altering genetic diseases is provided for three years after the date of sale. Should a genetic disease be discovered during this time that will shorten the life of the dog, Seller will reimburse Buyer the veterinary costs up to one half the purchase price of the dog, if dog is kept by Buyer, OR provided a replacement dog to Buyer from a similar litter type from the first litter with availability once the dog is returned to Seller at Buyer's expense.

  • Two independent veterinary examinations and reviews must be provided to Seller documenting the genetic health issue. Reimbursement of veterinary fees is provided to Buyer once copies of the medical reports are received by Seller and an evaluation of said documents has been completed by Seller's veterinarian. Reports/records must state the treatments provided, and fees for the treatments, along with any documentation, included chart notes, reports, lab results, radiology, and appointment scheduling documentation relative to said dog.
    • Warranties shall apply only to original purchaser. Transfer of dog ownership shall void all such provisions of this agreement.
    • Buyer agrees to first contact Seller should it ever become necessary to re- home dog. Seller will assist in re homing the dog.
    • Buyer agrees to never relinquish the dog to an animal shelter, rescue organization or puppy mill.
    • Under no circumstances shall the Seller be liable to the Buyer or to any third party for any consequential incidental or special damages resulting from or in manner related to the dog.
    • Upon execution of this contract all veterinary care and its associated costs are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the buyer.
