    We welcome performers ages 7 and up to audition for Anastasia!

    Please read the information below carefully and thoroughly, even if you have auditioned with CVCT before.

    IMPORTANT DATES
    Monday, October 12, 2026 — Auditions (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM)
    Tuesday, October 13, 2026 — Mandatory Movement Call (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM)
    The movement call is required in person for ALL auditionees, including those submitting video auditions.

    AUDITION LOCATION

    Cedar City Heritage Theatre
    105 North 100 East, Cedar City, Utah 84720
    Room 7 – Enter through the 2nd level garage entrance.

    CHILDREN | Ages 7–14
    Roles: Little Anastasia & Alexei
    Prepare:
        •    16 bars (about 30 seconds) of a song in the style of Anastasia
        •    A short, interesting story from your life to tell the audition panel (no longer than 30 seconds)
        •    Total audition should not exceed 1 minute

    In-Person Audition:
    October 12 | 6:30–7:15 PM

    Casting:
    These roles will be double cast with 4 children total. Each child will perform 3 shows as their principal role and 3 shows in the Ensemble.

    Submit a video audition instead. Select the 9:30 PM or 9:45 PM slot on the audition form and email your video to AnastasiaCVCT@gmail.com by 9:30 PM on October 12.

    TEENS & ADULTS | Ages 15+
    For: Speaking Roles & Singing/Acting Ensemble
    Prepare:
        •    16–32 bars of a song in the style of Anastasia
        •    Please do not sing a ballad.
        •    Total audition should not exceed 1 minute

    In-Person Audition:
    October 12 | 7:30–9:15 PM

    Can't attend in person?
    Submit a video audition instead. Select the 9:30 PM or 9:45 PM slot on the audition form and email your video to AnastasiaCVCT@gmail.com by 9:30 PM on October 12.

    WANT TO AUDITION FOR A DANCE TRACK?
    You do not need to submit a dance audition unless you specifically want to be considered for a dance track.

    If you choose to audition for a dance track, you will be considered ONLY for a dance track OR the singing/acting ensemble—not both.

    DANCERS | Ages 15+
    We are seeking 8 dedicated dancers, including one en pointe ballet dancer.
    These are dance-only tracks and will not include singing.
    To Audition:
        •    Learn the choreography provided on the CVCT website or audition form.
        •    Record yourself performing the combination.
        •    Email your video to AnastasiaCVCT@gmail.com by 9:30 PM on October 12.

    You do NOT need to attend the October 12 singing/acting audition.

    Important: Dancers will be considered ONLY for a dance track. To be considered for a singing/acting track please follow instructions listed in the "TEEN & ADULTS" section.

  • Mandatory Movement Call | Tuesday, October 13 | 6:30–7:30 PM

    The Movement Call is MANDATORY for everyone auditioning for Anastasia, including both acting and dance roles. You MUST attend on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:30 PM to be considered for the cast.

  • Callbacks | Tuesday, October 13 | 7:30–9:30 PM

    A callback list will be posted on the CVCT website either Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Those called back will stay after the Mandatory Movement Call for callbacks from 7:30–9:30 PM. If you were not asked to stay, it does NOT mean you will not be cast in the show.

    The final cast list will be posted on the CVCT website Friday, October 16, 2026.

  • Rehearsals | Begin Monday, October 19, 2026

    Rehearsals begin Monday, October 19. Rehearsals will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30–9:30 PM. Starting in November rehearsals will move to Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30–9:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. Beginning in January, rehearsals will increase to approximately 6 days per week as we prepare for tech and performances. Not every cast member will be called to every rehearsal; however, we ask that you keep these rehearsal times available in case of schedule changes. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided after casting.

  • Conflict Dates

    Please carefully review the rehearsal schedule above and list ALL known conflicts from October 19, 2026 through February 6, 2027, including the date and time (if applicable).

    Cast members are allowed up to 5 absences during the rehearsal process. Any additional absences must be approved by the Director. Beginning January 11, 2027, no absences will be permitted without prior approval from the Director. All conflicts listed will be considered during casting. PLEASE NOTE: missing a portion of a rehearsal will count towards one absence.

    Example: November 6 – School Concert, 6:00–8:00 PM; November 23–27 – Out of Town; December 12 – Work until 7:30 PM

    If you have no conflicts, please enter “No Conflicts.”

    I give Cedar Valley Community Theatre permission to photograph, video, and/or record me or my child (if the performer is under age 18) during the rehearsal and production process of Anastasia, and to use these images or recordings for promotional and archival purposes.

  • How to Select an Audition Time:

    Please select the appropriate audition time based on your age and audition type. Performers ages 7–14 auditioning for Little Anastasia or Alexei should select 6:30 PM, 6:45 PM, 7:00 PM, or 7:15 PM. Performers ages 15+ auditioning for acting roles should select an available audition time beginning at 7:30 PM. If you are auditioning for dance only, you do NOT need to select an audition time. Please follow the dance audition instructions and submit your video to AnastasiaCVCT@gmail.com.
