Thank you so much for your interest in sending letters to fundraise for the annual Resilient Retreat hosted by The Ampersand Initiative!

We are two birth moms cultivating fun adventure retreats for other birth moms. Each retreat is carefully currated to provide high quality experiences for women who have the common thread of walking through adoption as birth moms. Learn more about the retreat here.

We have partnered with BothHands to help cover the cost of our April 2027 reteat. Sending out letters will help sponsor not just the Resilient, but also a local widow! Emily is a widowed single mom of two boys and a teacher. We will be hosting a service day to help Emily's family on Saturday, November 14th in Fort Mill, SC with our Resilient Staff. We have a goal to raise $25,000, which will cover:

• a cozy house large enough to fit our group in a beautiful location
• daily holistic chef prepared meals
• healthy snacks and beverages
• expert breakout out sessions from a variety of speakers
• on-site photographer and medic
• activities and excursion fees
• junk-free swag bags
• insurance and other admin fees
• scholarships for birth moms in finanical need to attend

Which is where you're help comes in! 

BothHands has seen results that when 500 letters are sent the more likely we are to reach our goal. Our arms can only reach so wide, but you can help us reach further. Much like asking someone to sponsor you for a mission trip or a 5k, we need help finding sponsors for those serving on November 14th. 

We would provide:

• stamps
• envelopes
• letter template

Your job:

• use the letter we provide
• handwrite names and addresses on the envelopes
• send to people who care for you like family, friends, church members, etc. and/or the heart of this mission.
• letters need to be in the mailbox between October 24th to October 31st. (no sooner, no later)
