    Birthday Party (2-hours):
    $200 base package

    Add a Craft Station: $50

    Suggest additional donation for the
    Alaska Children's Museum : $50

    Renter is responsible for set up
    up to 20 minutes before party time starts
    & clean up within 20 minutes of party time ending.

    Late or incomplete clean up will result in a $50 fee,
    which will be billed after party completion.

  • The following information is part of The Workshop Community Center's rental contract.
    Please check each section to agree:


    Use of Facilities

    Renter agrees to:

    • Encourage all participants to sign The Workshop's liability waiver (one time) & check-in at our front desk for safety & security reasons upon arrival for programs during open hours.

    • Use the space only for the stated purpose.

    • Supervise all guests, participants, and children at all times.

    • Limit attendance to the safe occupancy of the rented space (50 guests)

    • Not engage in or permit illegal, unsafe, or disruptive activity.

    • No consumption of alcohol or recreational drugs on premises.
  • Included Amenities
    Depending on the space rented, available amenities may include:

    • Tables & chairs.
    • Lounge seating.
    • Play area for children (Renter responsible for supervision).
    • PA system & microphone.
  • Responsibilities

    • Set Up & Clean Up: Renter is responsible for setup and for returning the space to its original condition. Cleaning checklist provided for reference.

    • Damages: Renter will be held liable for any damage to property, furnishings, or equipment caused during the rental. 

    • Food & Drink: Allowed to bring your own food and drinks. Renter is responsible for cleanup, including post-event disinfecting to help prevent accidental allergy contact.

    • Alcohol is NOT permitted on the premises.

    • Smoking is not permitted inside the building or within 15 feet of our doors.

    All used materials & amenities must be properly stored & put away back to its original state. Items that are misused, broken, or lost will be charged to you in full price to replace the item. 

  • Insurance & Liability

    The Workshop & The Alaska Children's Museum are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
    Renter assumes liability for all activities and participants during the rental period.

    We encourage renters who are concerned about this to purchase event insurance independantly.

    All guest participants must fill out The Workshop's liability waiver (one time annually) and check-in at the check-in desk upon arrival. 

    This helps us keep our space safe, know who is in the building in case of an emergency, and helps us protect ourselves and you against accidental injury. 

  • Cancellations & Additional Fees

     

    • Cancellations made by renter are non-refundable.
      Unless our Executive Director approves it in the case of an emergency cancellation, as stated below.*

    • *Cancellations due to illness, family or medical emergencies, unsafe travel conditions (following ASD's weather advisory), or other circumstances beyond our control are rebookable at the descrection of The Workshop. 

    • Deposits are refundable in the case of cancellation due to these uncontrolable circumstances once approved by our Executive Director. For any reason, if the reason for cancellation is in question or does not fit these emergency qualifications, but you'd still like to get your deposit refunded, you can submit a Letter of Request for Deposit Refund to our board of directors by emailing aimeelucia@theworkshopanchorage.com The Workshop's Board of Directors will review your request. The decision to refund a disputed cancellation deposit is at the discretion of our board members' vote.

    • The Workshop reserves the right to cancel rentals due to emergencies, unsafe travel or building conditions, or violation of policy. Payments will be 100% refunded for cancellations made by The Workshop for any reason, with the exception of violation of policy or breech of contract.

    • Cancellations made by The Workshop due to violation of policy or breach of contract by renter will be charged an additional $200 inconvenience fee for breach of contract. This includes violation of our code of conduct policies (listed below), rentals under false pretenses, the consumption of alcohol or smoking on premises, and/or rental facilities being left messy or disrupted from original state beyond reasonable wear and tear.

    • Failure to remove all property from the facility after your rental term ends may result in the confiscation of property left behind. If an item is left behind accidentally, we will notify you. You have 7 days to remove stored items once the rental term is complete, unless otherwise arranged.

  • Code of Conduct Policy

    GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT 
    (MANDATORY FOR ALL GUESTS)

    To ensure a safe and inclusive environment, all participants must adhere to the following:

    Respect: Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Discriminatory or disrespectful behavior is not tolerated.
    Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and instructions.
    Cooperation: Work with volunteer staff and others to maintain a positive atmosphere.
    Cleanliness: Keep the facilities clean and report concerns promptly.
    Compliance: Follow all rules and regulations of The Workshop Community Center. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, such as being temporarily removed or permanently banned.
    Supervision: Children under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult who assumes full responsibility for the child.

    PLAY AREA CODE OF CONDUCT 
    (MANDATORY FOR ALL GUESTS)

    Do not come play if you are ill.
    Wash hands or sanitize before playing with toys.
    Use inside voices; no yelling.
    No vulgar language or offensive speech.
    No running, jumping, or climbing.
    Share and take turns.
    Be respectful of others, including volunteers.
    Put toys away and clean up spills.
    Always have adult supervision.
    Listen and comply with volunteer instructions.

    Volunteers will remind you if rules are broken.
    If behavior persists, volunteers will notify the parent/guardian. Continued issues may result in removal for the day.Physically aggressive behavior may lead to immediate intervention by volunteers, with a report provided upon request.
