  • 4. CROSS-BORDER TRANSPORTATION

  • For all horses travelling between Canada and the United States, an International Health Certificate is required regardless of direction of travel. Cross-border documentation requirements vary depending on the horse, ownership, purpose of travel and destination. The PNW office will contact you directly regarding the documentation and information required for your specific shipment. Please ensure all requested documentation and information is provided to PNW prior to transport.

  • 6. LOADING & UNLOADING

  • Loading and unloading must normally be completed within 60 minutes of PNW's arrival. If loading or unloading exceeds 60 minutes, an additional charge of $125 per hour may apply. If PNW and the customer mutually agree that PNW should leave because the horse cannot be safely loaded, a $250 call-out fee may apply. PNW reserves the right to refuse to load or transport a horse that, in PNW's reasonable judgment, cannot be loaded safely, presents a danger to itself, PNW personnel, other horses or equipment, or appears unfit or unsafe to transport.
  • 7. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT

  • The owner/shipper accepts responsibility for excessive or unusual damage caused by their horse to PNW trucks, trailers or equipment beyond ordinary wear and tear. Where damage occurs, PNW will provide a reasonable estimate or invoice for repair and make appropriate adjustments if the final repair cost differs from the initial estimate.
  • 8. DEPOSIT, PAYMENT & CANCELLATION

  • Payment is required in full prior to pickup unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing. An invoice will normally be issued prior to shipping. PNW may require a 50% deposit from new clients to reserve space. If PNW refuses transportation because a horse cannot be safely loaded, presents a danger, or appears unfit to travel, applicable deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before scheduled transportation may result in forfeiture of amounts paid toward transportation. Any applicable service or processing fees will be disclosed to the customer.

  • The Owner/Shipper acknowledges that transporting and handling horses involves inherent risks, including risks associated with loading, unloading, road transportation, interaction with other horses, illness and unforeseen events.
  • The Owner/Shipper acknowledges that PNW Equine Transport Ltd. will take reasonable measures to provide safe and appropriate transportation and care during the journey.
  • The Owner/Shipper accepts responsibility for providing accurate information concerning the horse's health, temperament, behaviour and special requirements and for consequences resulting from material information that was not disclosed.
