The 2027 Therapeutic and Applied Geek and Gaming Summit (TAGGS) will take place
April 1-4, 2027 and all presentations/workshops are from 9 am to 5 pm PST.

Please complete this form to submit your session proposal for TAGGS 2027.

Please be descriptive, but brief, and answer all questions fully so your submission gets the best consideration for final approval.

This year's theme is: Reclaiming Our Stories, Revisiting Our Past

Priority will be given to proposals that incorporate the theme. Some ideas of how to do so include:

• How our past fandoms have shaped us
• Ways we re-experience/revisit media (reboots, rewatches, new mediums)
• Interacting with problematic media and addressing that in our lives

The final day to submit a proposal is October 16th, 2026.

Acceptance emails will be sent the week of November 23rd, 2026.

Provide a quick bio (150 words max). Be mindful that bios aren't just for attendees to get an idea of the presenter, but are part of CE requirements to ensure presenters are knowledgeable about what they will be presenting.

How to Write a Strong Bio:

1. Be Concise: Keep your bio brief but informative, focusing on key details that highlight your qualifications and expertise.
   Establish Professional Identity: Clearly state your credentials and areas of specialization.
2. Incorporate Personal, Cultural, And/Or Significant Identity Factors: Mention relevant aspects of your background or identity to connect with attendees on a personal level. This is crucial if the content you're presenting is also connected to your lived experience.
3. Highlight Specializations: List the therapeutic approaches and populations you specialize in to help potential clients determine if you're the right fit.
   Include Unique Aspects: Add something that sets you apart, such as a unique therapeutic approach or personal interest that relates to your practice.
4. Mention Reach: If applicable, note your licensure in multiple states, any notable experience with large organizations, or platforms in which you are connected too.
5. Add a Human Element: Include a personal hobby or interest to make your bio more relatable and approachable.

"Ariel Landrum is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Art Therapist. She is a proud Filipina American practicing out of California. She specializes in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Art Therapy. She incorporates her client's passions and fandoms as part of the treatment process. She is licensed in multiple states to provide therapy and regularly conducts mental wellness training for various Fortune 500 organizations.

The populations she specializes in working with are military members and their families, the LGBTQIA+ community, survivors of sexual assault, and the AANHPI diaspora. When she isn't conducting therapy in her private practice, Guidance Teletherapy, you can find her trying to catch them all on Pokemon Go."

The TAGGS selection process takes the diversity of its presenters into consideration to include and uplift underrepresented groups and identities.

• Presentation: A format focused on presenting or sharing information. Example: A slide show with speaker with only Q&A audience interaction. 
• Workshop: A format focused on teaching a skill, with the opportunity for attendees to receive feedback from the facilitator. Interactive experiences that showcase a specific skill. May involve breakout rooms or group sharing. Example: Design a mini-game, create an RPG plot, create interventions for a fandom or IP. (Workshops will be recorded and added to TAGGS replays, but will not qualify for homestudy CEs)

How to Write Effective Learning Objectives:

• Define Learning Outcomes: Start by clearly stating what participants will know or be able to do after completing the course. Focus on what the participants will achieve, not what the presenter will do.
• Be Observable and Measurable: Ensure that each learning objective can be observed or measured. This helps in assessing whether the learning goals have been met.
• Use Action Verbs: Incorporate specific action verbs to describe the desired outcomes. This makes your objectives clear and behaviorally specific. Some examples include: Analyze, Apply, Create, Evaluate, Summarize
• Avoid Vague Verbs: Stay away from vague verbs that are hard to measure, such as: Understand, Learn, Know, Appreciate
• Phrase Objectives Clearly: You can introduce your objectives with phrases like: "Participants will be able to..." or "This workshop is designed to help you..."
   

By following these tips, you can create learning objectives that are clear, measurable, and focused on participant outcomes, making them more effective for both instructional design and assessment.
