Information we collect
We may collect information including your name, contact details, address history, right-to-work and sponsorship responses, driving eligibility, education and qualifications, employment history, availability, references, application answers, reasonable-adjustment requirements and recruitment correspondence.
If your application progresses, we may also collect right-to-work evidence, driving documentation, references and information required for the appropriate DBS checking process.
Why we use your information
We use applicant information to:
- assess eligibility and suitability for employment;
- manage applications, interviews and recruitment decisions;
- communicate with applicants and referees;
- make reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process;
- verify information and complete pre-employment checks; and
- comply with our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Our lawful bases generally include taking steps at your request before entering into an employment contract, complying with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating a fair and effective recruitment process.
Where we process special-category information, such as information concerning reasonable adjustments, or criminal-offence information connected with an eligible DBS check, we will only do so where permitted by data-protection law and subject to appropriate safeguards.
Automated eligibility decisions
The initial application contains two essential eligibility questions. An application will be automatically prevented from progressing where the applicant confirms that they:
- do not hold a full, valid UK driving licence and are not able to transport clients as required by the role; or
- require employer-sponsored immigration permission, which Consummate Care is currently unable to provide.
These requirements are necessary because transporting clients is an essential duty of the position and Consummate Care cannot currently offer visa sponsorship.
If you believe that you selected an answer incorrectly, or you would like the decision reviewed by a person, contact enquiries@consummatecare.co.uk. We will review the information and correct the application where appropriate.
Who we share information with
Applicant information may be accessed by authorised Consummate Care staff involved in recruitment and employment administration. Where necessary, information may also be shared with referees, DBS and right-to-work checking services, professional advisers, regulators, legal authorities and contracted technology providers that process information on our behalf, including our online-form provider.
We do not sell applicant information.
How long we retain information
Applications from unsuccessful or automatically rejected applicants will normally be retained for six months from the date of submission for unsuccesful applicants and will then be securely deleted, unless we are required to retain information for longer for a legal reason.
For successful applicants, relevant recruitment information will be transferred to the employee record and retained in accordance with Consummate Care’s employee-record retention requirements.
We do not retain unsuccessful applications for unrelated future vacancies unless we separately explain this and obtain the applicant’s agreement.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing and challenge an automated decision.
To exercise your rights or raise a data-protection concern, contact enquiries@consummatecare.co.uk.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Further information is available at ico.org.uk.
