The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division invites local artists to submit work for consideration for exhibit as part of the 2027-2029 Public Art Program at the Farmington Hills City Hall and The Hawk Community Center. This is an opportunity for artists to show their work to a broader audience and be part of a thriving art community.   

The Public Art Program was initiated in 2010 to enhance the newly renovated Farmington Hills City Hall. The program brings art into our daily lives, invigorates City Hall by generating conversation, cultivating inspiration and contributing insight. 

City Hall is an innovative facility balancing functionality with sustainability and pleasing aesthetics. With its efficient layout, minimalist finishes and concrete floors, the building offers a sleek design while acting as a welcoming host to the nearly 60,000 annual visitors, citizens and staff. Featuring 66 artists, City Hall looks like a modern art gallery.

The Hawk opened in 2021 and we asked the art community to enhance and elevate the character of the newly renovated community center. This exhibit features work from 47 artists from Farmington Hills and surrounding communities. 

The artwork is on loan to the City for two years. Most of the art is for sale and the city takes no commission for sales that result from being shown here. 

Artists should submit five (5) images. All must be of professional quality and if chosen, mounted and ready to display.

ALL IMAGE FIELDS (title, description, dimensions and value) MUST BE COMPLETED, for each piece of artwork submitted. If item is not for sale (NFS), artist must provide insurance value. Images must be of professional quality and saved as jpg, gif, or png format.

I certify that the artwork described in this application is that which will be on display and is completely my own work, in which I have sole rights for its display. If selected, I commit the above work(s) for display for a period of two (2) years. I certify that I am responsible for properly framing or preparing artwork for installation to protect from damage, including sunlight. If artist agrees to display artwork in outside locations, weather damage due to choice of the materials is the responsibility of the artist. Artist agrees to provide delivery and pick-up of items, with the exception of special circumstances in which transportation may be provided. If the items should sell during the display term, artist may keep 100% of the price of all artwork sold during the exhibit. Artist also agrees that if accepted, will allow permissions for use of artist image(s) for promotion, unless notified otherwise by the artist. A member of the Cultural Arts Division will notify artists upon acceptance to schedule and arrange the details of upcoming exhibits.
