• 2027 ASPO-HNS Annual Meeting Abstract Submission Form

  • All COSM submissions should not be published or presented previously at another national or international meeting and is not under consideration for presentation at another national or international meeting. The penalty for duplicate presentation/publication is prohibition of the author from presenting at a COSM society meeting for a period of three years.

  • New This Year: Mini-Symposia

    Mini-Symposia are two-hour sessions focused on a specific topic within pediatric otolaryngology. Each session will feature 15-minute keynote presentation, a 30 minute panel discussion, and additional presentations in a variety of formats. For example, an Otology Mini-Symposium may include presentations on genetic testing, gene therapy, and abstracts addressing the evaluation and management of hearing loss. Mini-symposia content will be developed based on submissions received. 

     

    Submission Types Defined:

    Abstract: Original research or scientific work presenting new findings relevant to pediatric otolaryngology. Accepted abstracts may be selected for oral presentation (6 min), quick shot (3 min), or poster presentation. 

    Panel: An expert-led educational session that explores a focused topic through multiple perspectives, discussion, and practical insights relevant to pediatric otolaryngology. 

    Mini-Symposia Featured Talk: A 15-minute introductory talk highlighting an innovative or emerging topic in pediatric otolaryngology, such as gene therapy or hypoglossal nerve stimulation.

  • Panel Types:

  • Panels are intended to be moderated discussion based forum with audience input/participation. Collaboration across geographic and specialty areas is encouraged. Panels comprised of sequential didacic presentations are discouraged. See descriptions of panel types below: 

    1. Debate and Discussions (40 min): Panelists take differing and conflicting viewpoints on a controversial subject. 
    2. Standard Panel (40 min): Panelists provide a comprehensive review of an important pediatric issue through case presentations, evidence-based discussion, expert opionion, and/or personal reflection. Topics may include head and neck tumor management, pediatric airway management, discharge planning for airway patients, and other relevant pediatric otolaryngology issues. 
    3. Mini-Symposia Panel (30 min): A panel discussion focused on a key topic within otology, rhinology, head and neck/skull base, plastics, airway, or sleep. Selected panels will be incorporated into a larger two-hour Mini-Symposium (see previous page for full Mini-Symposium description).
