The girls competition is currently being reviewed and the following divisions are proposed:

U12 Girls Monday: Times to be confirmed.
U14 Girls Monday: Times to be confirmed.
U18 Girls Monday: Times to be confirmed.

You may self nominate your preferred division, however your team may be asked to move down or up depending on previous competition results and the players in your team. U12 Boys and the Girls competitions are not split into divisions, but making a choice for your team helps us with future planning.

Your players must all abide by the age cut-off rules, and player eligibility is dependent on how old the player will be on 9th April 2026, the last day of the competition. For instance, if a player will be 12 on this date, they must be U14s, and not U12s. There is some room for age exception, please contact comps@springwoodscorchers.com.au to request exemption.

    Coaches & Managers

We can not provide coaches for your team. If needed, we can put a call out to the community, however parents/guardians should volunteer to perform this role or find a suitable coach for the team.

We are working on providing a free Basketball NSW accredited volunteer coaching course in the coming weeks. Suitable for any skill level whether you've coached before, or enjoyed basketball from the stands - please indicate on the form if you'd like to attend.

Both coaches and managers must provide valid working with children checks (WWCC). These are verified with the NSW Office of the Guardian before the beginning of each competition and as needed throughout the year. WWCC are free for volunteers and can be obtained through Service NSW.

    Team Formation

Teams with 6-7 players may get additional players added without request due to the popularity of the competition.

The Representative Player rules are being reviewed for this competition to ensure the comp remains robust and engaging for all players.

No more than three (3) Representative Players from the previous 12 months can play in a single team. Teams nominating up an age group with more than three (3) Representative Players (i.e. U12 Rep Players nominating into U14) may be split across competition teams at the discretion of Springwood Scorchers leadership.
