The mission of the Arvada-Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY) is "to facilitate ongoing recognition, educational, and leadership opportunities for Arvada and Wheat Ridge youth who have overcome adversity." Our Vision is "that all Arvada and Wheat Ridge youth recognize, act on and realize their potential to succeed." Our Purpose is "to ensure youth who otherwise might go unrecognized, yet have overcome adversity, receive public praise, educational and on-going opportunities to help them achieve their potential."

This will be our 26th year of recognizing deserving youth in our community. We have now recognized 2095 youth and awarded 488 scholarships to Red Rocks Community College! As someone who works with youth on a regular basis, you are invited to nominate individuals to be recognized by AWRSAY for a Personal Development award, or a scholarship.

The $400 Personal Development award can be used toward activities such as academic, arts, leadership, or sport programs. Eligible students for this award are 6th - 12 graders.

Seniors may be awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Red Rocks Community College. All students will be required to complete a Personal Statement. Please remind your nominee to do so and we encourage you to assist and support them with their personal statement in any way you are able.

3. How has your nominee benefited the nominator, other youth, family, school or community?

4. Why do you feel your nominee should receive this award?
