Institute for Social Research, Thompson building, Room 1430

Government data help us understand our communities, inform public decisions, and support a healthy democracy. Celebrate Democracy Week at U-M by joining the Inter-university Consortium for Social and Political Research (ICPSR) for a Data Preservation Hackathon.

    Participants will explore:

    1. The value of government data and the role it plays in society
    2. The difference between making data open and preserving it for long-term access
    3. Current efforts to safeguard valuable government data

Through a guided, hands-on activity, attendees will contribute to data preservation efforts and leave with concrete next steps for preserving and advocating for high-quality government data.

No prior experience is required, but you must bring a laptop to fully participate in the event.

This in-person event is open to U-M students, faculty, and staff.

    Refreshments will be served.
